Chiefs Confirm Alleged Abuse Claims Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The NFL franchise issued a statement Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of claims of abuse made public in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver Rashee Rice and were in communication with the NFL.
The team did not mention the player specifically in their statement and stated they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

Dacoda Nichole Jones, who also did not mention Rice directly, posted a series of photos on Instagram that appeared to show indicators of bodily harm. Jones did say the individual in question was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with the football player, whom the team drafted in the second round.
Police Reports Reportedly Unavailable
No official complaints were on file in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have occurred.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice missed the first six games of this NFL campaign following an league-mandated ban for his involvement in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people hurt. He was given a month of incarceration and probationary supervision after entering a guilty plea to serious offenses.
On the field, he concluded the year with 53 receptions for 571 yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs finished 6-11 and missed the playoffs for the first occasion in a ten-year span.
